Glanssteen of strijkglas, bestaande uit een sterk afgeplatte grijze glazen bol. Bij de aanzet tot de steel is het glas afgebroken. Het glas van de steen is gaan iriseren en hierdoor bevat het grijze glas glinsteringen in diverse tinten wit, grijs en zwart. Gebruikt voor het gladstrijken, pletten of polijsten van stoffen.
