Public domain is a term used to indicate that works are no longer protected by copyright and related rights. In the EU, this is the case when the maker has been deceased for at least 70 years. In that case, there is no rightful claimant and there is no permission needed to use the work.

Blauwe ovale kartonnen hoedendoos met een los deksel. De doos is aan de voor- en achterzijde hoger dan in het midden. Op de voorzijde een etiket met rond de tekst: "C.V. Visser bij de beurs, Vischmarkt Leiden" en in het midden een rond wapen met een leeuw en een kroon. Rechtsonder "steendr. v J.J. Sleijser". De binnenkant is roze. Met een bruin linnen lint als hengsel.
