Public domain is a term used to indicate that works are no longer protected by copyright and related rights. In the EU, this is the case when the maker has been deceased for at least 70 years. In that case, there is no rightful claimant and there is no permission needed to use the work.

Pijpendop: metalen korfje aan een kettinkje. Het korfje is klokvormig en bestaat uit in elkaar gedraaide metaaldraden. Langs de onderrand zijn de draden dichter opelkaar ingedraaid. Langs een zijde een langgerekte bundel van draden die langs het korfje omwikkeld zijn. Bovenaan het korfje een bevestiging voor de ketting die bestaat uit ronde schakels. Aan het uiteinde een ring van metaaldraad.
