On Museum De Lakenhal

Museum De Lakenhal is the museum for art and history of the city of Leiden. The museum is located in the former Leiden cloth hall, a building dating from 1640. The collection includes highlights by old masters such as Rembrandt van Rijn, Gerrit Dou, Jan Lievens and Jan Steen, as well as works by modern and contemporary artists such as Theo van Doesburg, Claudy Jongstra and Erwin Olaf. Leiden's illustrious past is reflected in collection presentations such as The Siege and Relief of Leiden (1574) and Seven Centuries of Leiden Cloth.

  • Museum De Lakenhal (Oude Singel 32, Leiden) is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm
  • The museum will also be open on Monday 6 April 2026 (Easter Monday) and Monday 25 May 2026 (Whit Monday)
